Fly Fishing Report for the Upper Delaware and Catskill RIvers
MORE HIGH WATER
Last night some really heavy rain storms moved through our river valleys. These intense storms dropped several inches of rainfall into an already high river system.
This morning our rivers are still rising or are just cresting. The flows are pretty big so the good dry fly fishing will be on hold for a few days.
Here are the current numbers for our rivers
Beaverkill 4410
East Branch Upper 2300
East Branch lower 8970
West Branch 2620
Main Stem Delaware 9440
With the heavy water and turbidity present, streamer fishing is about the only option. With the current flows the East and West Branches are the only options. The current flows on these rivers are in a range where our guides like to get our and throw large streamers.
This will be the main technique for most of the week.
