Tampa Bay Fly Fishing Report

Warm Weather has the fishing improving daily! Right now both Fly anglers and Spin Anglers have expanding options around the bay. Over the last few days we have been finding water temperatures back in the 70's and there are bait fish returning to the shallow water. On my last few trips we have been doing really well. Right now I have a lot of options for my guests. We can hunt the flats for Trout and Redfish. The Snook are becoming active in the back country. There are schools of bait so chasing Macks, Ladyfish and Blues is possible. There is also the option of hunting giant Cobia around the power plant and along the edges of the flats. Fly Fishing Report for Tampa Bay

February Starts with a Mixed Bag Over the last week the fishing around the bay has been picking up nicely. I have really moved my charter locations around recently and have found action in most areas. The forecast looks like continued warm sunny weather with daytime highs in the upper 70's to low 80's. This forecast is sure to keep the water temperatures on the rise. The constant bite continues to be with Speckled Trout. There are good numbers of Trout on the edges of the flats all around the bay. The fish are not everywhere but if you move around a bit you will find them. The morning bite has been in the grassy areas that have 5' to 8' of water above them. Late day the fish have been moving
