LESSONS & GUIDES >>
Over the last two decades the Baxter House has put together a guide staff that is second to none in the Upper Delaware River System. Our professional guides are exceptional teachers as well as top rate Fly Fishermen. Our guides will listen to what your expectations are and custom plan a trip based on your abilities and desires. This will ensure that your day on the river will be fun, informative and above all safe.
Our Guided Fly Fishing Trips consist of either Walk Wading or Drift Boat fishing throughout the Upper Delaware Region. Our guides have intimate knowledge of the waters of the Beaverkill River, Willowemoc Creek, The East and West Branches of the Delaware and the Main Stem Delaware.
Our saltwater trips are from flats style boats or walk wading the flats. Our saltwater guides all operate top quality skiffs that are equipped with all of the essential equipment to make your day on the water comfortable and safe.
We offer Fly Fishing Trips for Trout and both Fly Fishing and Spin Tackle Trips for Smallmouth Bass in the Upper Delaware. In Florida we target Snook, Redfish, Sea Trout, and Tarpon

Richard's passion for pursuing fish on the fly has taken him to Montana, Colorado, the Florida Keys, Cape Cod, Alaska, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden.
In 2004 Richard decided to share his passion and became a NYS licensed guide. Since then Richard has been a dedicated student of the Delaware River system and he now lives half of the Year on the Banks of the East Delaware.

Chris Calabrese has been fishing for trout since he was a teenager. His family owned a house in the western poconos where he fished the Broadhead, mud run, and the tailgaters of the Lehigh River and Pohocopo Creek.
It was only logical that Chris found his way to the waters of the Upper Delaware. Chris quickly fell in love with the river system and has spent countless hours exploring it's rivers.
In 2013 Chris set his roots in the mountains when he purchased a cabin on the banks of the Beaverkill River. Now the Upper Delaware waters are his back yard.
Since 2013 Chris has spent every free moment floating and wading the Upper Delaware waters. and honing his skill on the toughest trout anywhere.

Jim is also a very patient instructor and he is one of the guides we like to pair up with those who are new to fly fishing. Over the last few years he has introduced many new anglers to Fly Fishing for wild trout.
Collin is starting his second year taking Baxter House guests on the water. He is the youngest member of our staff but he is quite accomplished for his age.
Collin is local to Roscoe, NY so the waters of the Upper Delaware are where he grew up fishing. Collin has spent a lot of time on our local waters and over the last few years he has really honed his skills. He is a top notch angler with the dry fly and spends a lot of time working over the fussy fish on the East Delaware.
Collin is currently licensed in NY and Pa and guided both Walk Wades and Drift Boat trips from his ClackaCraft Drift Boat.
Collins other love is hunting and he spends large amounts of time in the woods during small and big game seasons and is licensed to take hunters afield.

Throughout the course of a busy season we regularly have the need for additional guides. The Baxter House has a long relationship with the best guides that work this region. Because of this we are able to handle large groups and corporate trips.
