Upper Delaware Fly Fishing Report
Yesterday rain fell for most of the day which made for some tough fishing conditions. There is more rainfall expected tomorrow.
Today is the day to get out over this weekend. There is a forecast for mixed sun and clouds and no rain.
The March Browns are on the water on the freestone rivers. There are still Hendricksons, Blue Quills and Caddisflies on the Tailwaters. Here is a photo from yesterday.
Hendrickson and March Brown Spinners are now possible on all Upper Delaware waters.
The Trout are now spreading out and at this time there are fish holding in all water types. The action in the riffles and pocket water is improving daily.
Currently our guides are fishing March Brown nymphs, Pheasant Tails and Our Pupas below the surface. The action is good.
We have started to spend some time blind fishing large March Brown Cripples. We have been taking a few fish with this method.
If you are getting out in the coming days make sure that you have Some knock down duns, Spinners and cripples. The trout have been keying in on the flush floating insects at times.
