Upper Delaware Fly Fishing Report

MONDAY

Yesterday was a good day on the river despite the cold weather.

The insect hatches are underway and there was a decent emergence on all rivers yesterday. There are Blue Quills, Quill Gordons and Hendrickson's on the water. The amount of insects vary on the river section but there are enough insects to bring the Trout to the surface.

Anglers planning on fishing in the coming days should make sure they choose slow water sections of the river with small uniformly shaped river cobble. These are the areas where there will be the most insects and the best rising activity.

Yesterday our guests had pretty good action. Currently you can take fish on Dries, Nymphs and Streamers.

Below are a couple of shots from yesterday.

We are forecast for continued warmer weather for the rest of the week. We do have some openings if you want to get a shot at the early season dry fly action.

Give us a call in the shop today if you want to get out on the river.
