Upper Delaware Fly Fishing Report
WEEKEND OUTLOOK
This weekend should offer all visiting anglers exceptional Trout fishing conditions throughout the region.
Our freestone rivers are still in great shape for mid July. There is still plenty of water, insect hatches and rising Trout.
The West Branch and main Stem are in great shape at this time. The great conditions are unexpected as there was a problem with a construction project at the dam which has prompted the DEP to lower the reservoir level. For the immediate future there will be a 1500cfs. release from Cannonsville. This is expected to continue until the construction issues are resolved or the reservoir emptys out.
This situation is going to create an excellent opportunity for all of our customers to get out for some great dry fly trips on the Main Stem in summer!
Anglers coming into town this weekend should expect to find plenty on insects especially towards dark. Isonychia, Cahills, Yellow Drakes, Sulfurs, Olives and Terrestrials are on the water. Anglers should stop by for some Sulfur and Isonychia Cripples as our float trips guests have been killing them on this pattern every day!
