ABOUT US >>

At Baxter House Outfitters we are all about the fishing....

The Baxter House has been a landmark in Roscoe for well over a century. Built in the 1880's as a homestead, the Baxter House was eventually converted to a Guest House to lodge the ever increasing amount of sportsmen who visit the Catskill Mountains to Fish and Hunt.

In 2000 Capt. Ken Tutalo took ownership of the Baxter House and opened as an outfitter and river guide service for visiting Fly Fishermen. Today Baxter House no longer offers lodging but is instead known for having the finest Fly Fishing Guides and first hand knowledge of the waters of the Upper Delaware River System.

The Baxter House guide staff has earned a solid reputation as the most knowledgeable professional guides in the region. We are not bound to any one location. Each day we choose our fishing beats based on current river and weather conditions as well as an intimate knowledge of the regions insect hatches.

On any given day our guides may choose to put you out on the Beaverkill River, Willowemoc Creek, The East Branch of the Delaware River, West Delaware River or Main Stem Delaware River. We are pretty hard core, we fish until dark and go out in all weather conditions.

On most days our guests will have the opportunity to take mature Trout on Dry Flies, Nymphs and Streamer flies. Our guides love to hunt Giant Brown trout with oversized streamer flies.

Give us a call today, we would love to share our knowledge of the Best Trout Fishery in the East!

Winter Time Opportunity!

In 2014 Captain Ken expanded the Guide Business to include Guided Fly Fishing in the Beautiful Tampa Bay Estuary. This is an area that is a fly fisherman's paradise.

From November through April we can offer our guests exciting trips on the flats and in the mangrove lined back country. Our main targets during the winter are Snook, Redfish, Spotted Trout, Tarpon and more....

Capt. Ken is currently fishing from an Ankona technical poling skiff that will get 2 fly anglers into the most shallow areas of the bay.
