Fly Fishing Report for the Upper Delaware and Catskill Rivers

Dr. Bob had a banner Day with guide Zach. He put 4 Big boys in the net on Streamers and a bunch of smaller ones.

High Water and a Great Streamer Bite

This past weekend was a perfect example of why our guides love high turbid water. The heavy rainfall provided us with about the perfect conditions for Fishing large streamer flies from our drift boats.

All of our guides were busy over the weekend and we had several groups with trips booked for both trout and smallmouth bass. With the high water we wound up fishing every trip for trout.

The photos below are from Saturday's action. We split our guests between the East and West branches, both rivers produced steady action.

We expect the high water conditions to keep the good fishing going. This morning both the Upper East and Upper West branches are still above 1000 cfs. With the current volume of water the streamer bite should continue to be good. The dry fly activity should also be a bit less technical.
